I think I met the owner/ manager. I don't know. He was standing outside greeting customers, and when I was inside he was in the back running around doing stuff. Either way you can tell he really cares about the business and wants his customers to be happy. The girl at the register/the girl that made my food, can't say the same for her. I went in to look at the menu because I had never been there before, never had a pita. She comes in and stands behind the register and stares at me. I could feel her staring a holes through my head. I didn't have a question as I was just reading the menu, but in an instance like that I suggest come one in customer service or food service start asking questions of making suggestions. That staring was not cool. When she did speak to me I felt like she was talking to me like an idiot. The nice thing is when I saw her later she asked how my food was, so I guess the way she was earlier was her version of customer service? It needs improving. As for the food, it was ok. I'm not sure about the onions. Red onions carry salmonella and their red onions looked old and gave me the creeps. The ones on the side where they take your order looked fresh and new. The ones on the side where they make your food looked left over from the day before. But this is all speculation so take that with a grain of salt. The turkey on the inside of my pita was cold. I guess I didn't have such a great experience.

The food is good! But they need more staff. I got there at 3.20am and waited exactly 1 hour for my food, only 2 people (one cashier and 1 line cook, this place has always been busy on weekend nights, so shame on them for not having enough staff !! It's an insult to their costumers. I'm never coming back during weekend nights !!

It was supposed to be your typical Thursday night in Downtown, Fort Lauderdale; go club hopping, quaff a few drinks, and bless the dance floor with my majestic moves only to be compared to a young John Travolta in his prime ( youtu.be/gvGO9N69ZkE ) -- you know, the usual. A friend of mine suggested that I consume some sort of hefty food prior to our excessive caloric intake of cheap well-liquor at the surrounding venues. This was a reasonable request, so I obliged. For the first time in YEARS of frequenting 'Downtown' I finally acknowledged the existence of what has become my newest, guilty, fast food joint to add my preexisting repertoire. Enter: The Pita Pit. Upon walking inside, I was quite befuddled with the choices displayed on their hovering menu. The cashiers at this location weren't as warm and inviting as say... Chick-Fil-A, but that was irrelevant. The true greatness lies beyond that counter and rests in the hands of the ostensible "cooks". After making my selection of the "Chicken Crave" (See full menu here: bit.ly/zhzRA ) I watched as my selected poultry was tossed onto a grill and cooked on the spot, à la express hibachi-style. During this time I was asked to pick any available toppings to add to my pita. The selection was very reminiscent to Subway™: lettuce, pickles, peppers, onions, sauces... you get the picture. Finally all this combined and wrapped up in a delicious pita! My taste buds fell deeper in love with each and every bite. Disclaimer: anyone involved in a happy relationship may want to reconsider eating here because it will feel as if you're committing acts of infidelity. ;) Maybe that last line was hyperbole? Needless to say, I enjoyed my Meat pita very much. It was satisfying, didn't make give me that typical "I-hate-myself-why-did-I-eat-so-much!" --feeling, afterwards. This place is a gem. It's like the franchise Subway's cousin, only better. My only regret is not having more of these locations where I live. P.S. Psst.. did you hear that? *POP!* Sounds like a bust my first "Yelp Cherry." Booya! Follow Me. Twitter: twitter.com/muygalan Tumblr: muygalan.tumblr.com

Chicken Caesar Wrap is so good, service is great. I'm also a huge fan of the Falafel!

Think of Subway, Chipotle or Italio but on a pita. Same concept. You order what you want and then they add all the veggies and fixings you want and roll it into a pita. Open late so it's a good late night spot to fill your bellies after a night of drinking if you don't want hot dogs or pizza. They also sell beers.

Great option for a healthy fast food meal in Himmarshee village area. The atmosphere and set-up were very similar to a Subway sandwich shop, except the options were Middle Eastern, super fresh and way more interesting! We stopped in around dinner time, after spending a few hours at the art museum. It wasn't very busy, but that area gets pretty deserted between 5 and 9, when the bar crowd starts picking up. Apparently they're open until 4 am, so this place is perfect for lunch, dinner take out AND the midnight munchies!

Don't bother with the app. It takes 45 minutes and when you show up they haven't even started it.

Definitely DO NOT order online with these people. Not only did I not get my order or a simple phone call letting me know my order would be canceled, they sent me a lousy email through their online ordering company an hour after I received the confirmation letting me know their delivery service was "backed up" and they could not fulfill my order. I tried calling the actual pita pit store and it went straight to the VM. I did receive a refund but when you've been traveling all day, already hangry, you just expect great service. Its a major let down being told your order has already been canceled over an email. Two thumbs WAAAAAAAAY down.

I have an affinity for Pita Pit from my college days when many a late-night pita was consumed in Gainesville, Florida. I was happy to find this location was just as tasty, even in daylight. Most pitas are under $7 so it is a quick service lunch that is affordable. I am a fan of the chicken breast or chick souvlaki pita. The toppings are plentiful and include spinach for those looking to add a little more nutrition than romaine. They also have most veggies but some extra flair like sprouts and pineapple. If you are looking for a vegetarian option that isn't just toppings, try the falafel. The little falafel balls are grilled up like the other meats (risky if you don't like meat near your non-meat). The chip selection has recently increased to include some baked options, Sun Chips, and Lays in addition to Miss Vickie's (salt and vinegar and regular).

I love this place. It's my preferred sandwich shop over Subway as to me they are pretty much the same thing in a different shell (bread versus pita). It breaks my heart that it is in such a horrible area. Essentially the only open store in Riverwalk. I have to say the employees are truly grateful for each customer that walks through the door. The one positive thing is that there is never a wait. You're in and out in a flash. My go-to is the chicken breast on a white pita. I'm pretty plain. They have a wide variety of different pairings that again is comparable or greater than Subway's. It's a great place for a quick meal in unfortunately a bad spot. I hope it continue to stay open because I plan on being there for my weekly pita sandwich.

AMAZING service! They are extremely accommodating to they're hectic location, free 30minute parking and they even do curbside pickup. I got the club pita today, it was delicious and made extremely quickly.

Great consistent "fast" food, but more importantly, such a friendly staff with great service and smiling faces. I've only been in three times, yet they remember me and make me feel like they are grateful for my business. The young lady at the register is exemplary for what similar restaurants should strive to hire.

Wonderful and fresh, and great place to work and eat. My pita maker Chris was friendly and made the best pita bread to dip in my hummus. Definitely go eat there!

Really like this place. It's very clean, friendly staff, not 2 expensive and it's healthy. Good choice for a quick bite .. Breakfast lunch or dinner. Wishing they would open one in South Miami near the Tamiami Airport and or Kendall.

The worst Pita I have ever tasted in my life. So disappointing!! Had the chicken Gyro could not believe how terrible it was - no flavor - no love in the sauce. :( Thumbs down

I know, I know - there are a TON of great places to eat in Las Olas, but I noticed the Pita Pit as I was running in the area. I haven't eaten here in awhile, so I just had to satisfy my craving! I ordered the CHICKEN SOUVLAKI (Greek seasoned chicken - "The food of Mount Olympus"). I also had them grilled up some mushrooms. For my toppings I got spinach, onions, tomatoes, cucumbers, and tzatziki sauce ... all in a white pita. My "combo" came with chips and a drink -- gotta love Miss Vickie's Sea Salt chips. The service was prompt, the place was clean, and the toppings were fresh.

I was so happy to discover this place in Fort Lauderdale!! It brings me back to my University days in Canada where we had one on campus and one right downtown. So, if you happen to be wandering the streets out downtown and maybe had a little too much to drink, well make a pit stop at Pita Pit. In the heart of downtown, close to all the bars the place is always bumping (especially after 2:30am when the bars are closing). Prices are reasonable and the staff is always friendly even with the many intoxicated patrons. Overall, it's a great place if you're wandering downtown hungry for a late night snack. If you are stopping for lunch, beware there is only street parking. Follow These Steps to enjoy a delicious pita: First, Choose which meat/or protein you want, they grill it fresh for you, Second, Choose either a white or whole wheat pita. Third, Choose as many fresh veggies and toppings as you possibly think can fit! Fourth, Stuff your face, but you might want to bring your own bib, it can get quite messy (especially if you've had a few cocktails) ;)

If you are looking for Mediterranean (Israeli. Lebanese,Palastinian) falafel you will be very dissapointed. They do not make thier falafel there but they get it delivered and then they put it on the griddle to heat up and squirt oil on it. The falafel was warm on the outside and cold and greasy on the inside. Not sure about anything else on the menu. If you have been out drinking all night long and need something to fill your stomach I guess you will be OK.

Great late night spot when after a night out in riverside. Usually never a wait, and very friendly and prompt service. Prices are very reasonable, and there is a large array of toppings/creations that can be made with the pita. I've been to this place twice, and I'm not one to venture too much when it comes to my food, but its very irresistible here.

finally a pita pit in sofla, i would frequent the one in Gville very often after plenty of nights of debauchery. ahhh to be young again with limited responsibilities...anyway pitas are great here. pick and choose your meat or falafel which is great w. as many toppings as you like. good healthy stuff, drunk at 4am or sober at noon in DT FTL.

Beyond exceptional customer service. I have been staying at the Hilton Marina in Fort Lauderdale and learned that clients of mine live and die by Pita Pit (especially their tzatziki sauce). I wanted to have two gift cards delivered and was informed by Marcus, the Pita Pit manager, that due to the distance between the hotel and the restaurant location that I would be unable to get them; however, I received a call back from Marcus informing me that he would take it upon himself to hand-deliver the gift cards to the hotel. Sure enough he showed up the next day in the lobby with receipts ready to sign. A HUGE kudos to Marcus for demonstrating exactly what hospitality is all about. Good food, better people, can't beat it!

The people here are super friendly. Fast service, low price and delicious food made just how you like it. Helpful hint: get the rewards card. It can be used like a gift card that you can reload and a points card that you can get free pitas with.

I've been going to the Riverfront movie house ever since it opened years ago and noticed when the Pita Pit recently opened up but never gave it a try. We were running early today so decided to have lunch before the movie and since we had tried all the remaining (which are few) places to eat on the Riverfront into the Pita Pit we went. The place is bright and clean while the people behind the counter were cheerful which is always a good start. I ordered the turkey pita ($6.25) and was asked if I wanted the combo which included a soda and cookie or chips, said "Yes" and the next thing I know I was paying $9.01. There was no explanation of how they work and after I asked I was told to just wait on line and I would be taken care of which I did and was. There are two choices to make regarding what kind of pita---white or whole wheat--you want plus a variety of toppings plus cheeses and sauces, the majority included at no extra charge I added tomatoes, onions, lettuce, cheddar cheese and yellow mustard sauce on a whole wheat pita. I picked a bag of plain baked chips--feeling virtuous that I didn't choose a cookie--and filled my cup with diet soda. It was a good size pita and tasty but I would rather have gone to Subways if I was going to wait on myself. There is nothing wrong with Pita Pit but nothing to make me want to go back again. By the way the cashier/order taker said nothing about the Pita Pit reward card and when I got home and went to register it I had quite a hassle finally having to call the number on the back of the card. The bottom line was that I couldn't activate it without buying something first. At this point I just gave up!
